18” Doll House Plans

General Instructions

Prepare the materials and tools needed for the project. Review all the plans before doing the project. Work on the level surface and clean all surface from debris. Make sure to check the levelness of the frames after doing each step. Make pre-drill holes before attaching the screws. To make the frames stronger, use glue and nails.

Step 2. Dimensions

As seen in the picture

Step 3. Cut all pieces of the dollhouse. First, cut the longest piece with 45 degrees top roof. The 45 angle can be made by finding the side center and middle panels on top. The distance of the center needs to be 11 7/8” from each side. Measure down by 11 7/8” and draw the line diagonally between these two spots. Mark all the doors and windows. Then cut the markings and lines using jigsaw.

Step 4. After all pieces are cut, joint base floor into the walls. Drill the hole with Kreg jig and secure the joints using 1 ¼” screws.

Step 5. Attach the remaining floors. Make ¾” holes from the underside and secure the joints using 1 ¼” screws.

Step 6. As the dollhouse is intended to have one large room on top floor, apply plywood for the roof without any center supports or room dividers. Make sure that the top edge is even while attaching the room. Secure the joint using glue and staples or nails.

Step 7. Build the front roof by drilling the holes and securing the joint using 1 ¼” screws. Attach the front roof onto the front frame of the dollhouse using glue and nails.

Step 8. For the back side, use ¼” plywood. Attach the plywood into all walls and floors. Secure the joint using glue and nails.

Step 9. For the base, the carpenter can use 1×2 boards or install the wheels as the caster wheels.

Step 10. Measure the window sizes and make the window trims. When the trims are ready, attach to the window frames with glue. Add the shutters.

Step 11. To get larger top floor, cut down the center top wall. After the dollhouse ready, paint and coat the dollhouse.
