Project Overview

While working on this project, make sure to do all steps on the even surface with no debris or imperfections. Don’t forget to use only the straight boards. Make sure that all pieces are always square after doing each step.

Make some pre-drill holes before securing the frames with the screws. For stronger hold, always apply glue and finishing nails. Wipe off the glues from the frames to leave no stains on the bedside table.

Step 1.

Add 1×8 boards into 1×2 trim using glue and 1 ¼” nails. Check to see if all parts are square.

Step 2.

Attach the table legs into the 1×8 boards. Secure the joints by ¾” pocket holes and screw them using 1 ¼” screws.

Step 3.

Take two 2×2 boards for the sides and attach them to the frame using 1 ½” pocket holes, then secure them with 2 ½” screws.

Step 4.

Add six wood lath pieces into both sides to make 1×2 board. Attach the wood lath pieces with glue and nails. If you happen to have stapler, you can use it to attach the wood lath pieces.

Step 5.

Attach three wood lath pieces for the front trim.

Step 6.

Cut the drawers according to the size of the frame. The drawer used in this project is ½” clearance of euro mode drawer slide.

Step 7.

Attach all drawers as well as their drawer faces. Make the drawers and attach the glides for the drawer. Give some mark on the front drawer as the place to drill holes for the handle knob.

Step 8.

After the frame is half finished, use ¼” plywood to cover the top and back sides.

Step 9.

You can also add 1×2 supports over the top perpendicularly.

Step 10.

After the table is set, you can give 3 coats with some polyurethane.
