Make one hole on each top of the legs. Make holes onto all sides of desktop and shelves. After the desk is ready, you can give some finishing touches.
You can smooth all the surfaces using sander and sandpaper. If you want, you can paint the desk with your favorite color. You can also coat your table with some polyurethane. When doing the project, always wear your safety glasses.
All measurements for this project are only for your guidelines. You are free to make any adjustment for your own convenience. You can adjust the desk heights by adjusting the middle shelf and the legs.
Step 1. Build shelf trim
Prepare the tops and make sure that they are all even. Attach the trims into all sides of the tops and secure the joints using 1 ¼” screws. Before inserting the trims, make holes onto the edges. Make four similar components.
Step 2. Make desk legs
Build desk legs to support the center shelf. Make some holes along the legs and secure the legs into the center shelf using screws and glue. Each leg top needs to have one hole to be inserted into the desk top. Make two of this kind.
Step 3. Make tabletop
To install the tabletop, insert the trim end into the top. After that, insert long back and top trim into the side and top trim. When it is done, check if the edges are even with no openings.
Step 4. Assemble the components
First, place the desktop onto the tower top and secure the joint using some glue and screws from the desktop undersides. Adjust the position of the tower top to maintain its square angle. If it is done, your desk is ready to use. You can give the finishing touch to your desk. You can smooth all surfaces, paint them all and coat them to protect the desk from any moisture damages.
